Lewis number one in West Asia Super League for round 2 (by Hoops Agents)

American Swingman Chavaughn Lewis (195-G/F-1993) put on an amazing game in the last round for Shabab Al Ahli Dubai, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 30-year old player was the main contributor (27 points, eight rebounds and nine assists) to his team's victory, helping them to outclass, the league's bottom-ranked team Al Shamal (#14, 0-1) with 33-point margin 96-63. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Thanks to this victory Shabab Al Ahli moved-up to the 12th position in West Asia Super League. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Shabab Al Ahli won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team's last game Lewis had a remarkable 73.3% from 2-point range. He turned to be Shabab Al Ahli's top player in his first season with the team. Former Marist College star has very solid stats this year. Lewis is in league's top in points (6th best: 27.0ppg) and averages impressive 4.0spg and 73.3% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was another Shabab Al Ahli's star - young American Nick Minnerath (207-PF-1988). Minnerath had a very good evening with a double-double of 29 points and 10 rebounds. Of course together with Lewis he helped Shabab Al Ahli Dubai with another comfortable win outscoring Al Shamal (0-1) 96-63. His team has extremely good start of the season. They won their first game. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Minnerath is one of the most experienced players at Shabab Al Ahli and similarly like Chavaughn Lewis has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 29.0ppg (#4). He also registered 10.0 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was American swingman Sir'Dominic Pointer (198-G/F-1992) of Al-Manama (#15). Pointer showcased his all-around game by recording 20 points, eight rebounds and six assists in the last round. He was a key player of Al-Manama, leading his team to a 84-76 win against Kazma (#13, 0-1). Al-Manama has a very good start of the season. But there was just one game played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Pointer also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. The season just started for Pointer as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be team's leader.
